About the Challenge

The Phoenix Phearsome Phour is a self-supported summit challenge built around four of Phoenix's signature mountains: Camelback Mountain, Piestewa Peak, North Mountain, and Shaw Butte. The goal is simple to state and hard to finish — summit as many of the four as you can within a single 24-hour window.

How It Works

  1. Pick your target tier before you start — see Tiers.
  2. Start your 24-hour clock at your first trailhead.
  3. Summit your peaks in any order, by any legal route — see Routes.
  4. Log your times and submit your result — see How to Submit.

Why It's Hard

Phoenix heat, full-sun exposure, and the drive time between trailheads turn this into as much of a logistics challenge as a physical one. [Placeholder: add specific heat, hydration, and seasonal guidance.]
